Today we have officially started our newest project making a totem pole out of clay.
We decided on doing a Woodland theme having various different animals like badgers, squirrels and birds with trees and fruits around them. The activity took up the entire day and we had a ceramicist named Katie Netley come in to supply the clay and give guidance to the residents on what to do.
There were large clay blocks all in different shapes that the residents decorated alone and some with the help of our staff and volunteers who came in the morning to assist.
Their works have been taken be fired in the kiln and dried so they are ready to be glazed in June.
