On the 7th of October we held a McMillian coffee morning to raise money towards cancer research.
Our activity Co-Ordinators made signs to put around Woodlarks looking for volunteers to make or buy cakes for us to use at the coffee morning. Luckily many of the staff were happy to help and we got quite the selections of cakes to eat on the day. As this was an event to raise money we did not price the cakes but rather said make a donation of any size and help yourself to cake.
We invited staff the residents families and friends and even had visitors from previous staff and residents of the home. Guests starting arriving from 10:30 in the morning and we had a great turn around with many bringing cash to donate however Macmillan did supply us with barcodes that allowed people to donate online.
The event lasted just over 2 hours and we were able to raise a total of £151.70.
