Painting like famous artists

Today in our day centre we put on various types of music to listen to while getting inspiration from famous artworks our residents could replicate. Residents got the choice to get help if they would like from our co-ordinators but many liked the option to have help getting a rough outline and doing the painting

Happy Pancake day

Today we worked with our residents and made pancakes for everyone to decorate with their favourite toppings. We had various options off fruits and some syrups for those that wanted the extra sweetness. The residents always enjoy when we do baking activities especially when they can have it during tea and coffee break.  

60th Birthday Party

A very Happy birthday to one of our residents. Today we celebrated one of our residents 60th birthday with afternoon activities such as having an abba performer come in and sing many fan favourites for the residents to sing along to. Christmas Dinner

We had our annual Christmas dinner in 2 locations this year, with residents picking whichever one they preferred, between going to a garden centre or the pub and having a full Christmas dinner. There was an even split between the residents for the 2 locations, and it was an enjoyable afternoon with Christmas crackers, listening

Christmas Celebrations (what we have planned)

As we come into December we have many events lined up for the residents over this festive period: -10th December choir show at 7pm -11th December jean Claude xmas song show at2pm -13th Christmas lunch at the Garden centre -19th Christmas lunch at an local pub -23rd Christmas panto performance followed by an xmas party

Farnham Lantern festival

On the 31st of October we went to the Farnham lantern festival. Throughout September and October, our residents worked on making lanterns to take to the Farnham Lantern Festival. Our activities co-ordinators collected 10 lantern making kits to use and residents either made their own or paired up and made lanterns around different themes such

Balloon Hats

We had an staff members family come in today who made various balloon hats and animals for the residents to wear. We plan to keep them for the residents to have during the Halloween disco on the 28th October. Residents all liked to watch the hats get made and staff also participated wearing them around

Day out to Beale Wildlife Park

Today our day centre took the residents out to the Beale wildlife park in reading. The residents got to see various types of animals and we were lucky to go on a day where it was a bit warmer for autumn. Our staff madeĀ  an engaging experience and encouraged the residents to interact with the

Magic Show

Today we had a magician come in to perform for the residents They encouraged the residents to get involved and had many of them take part in various tricks. The performer act was very comedy based which our residents enjoyed and laughed quite a lot at.

Unveiling our totem pole project

Our Totem pole project we started earlier on this year is finally complete! We celebrated the completion of this project by hosting an outdoor afternoon party, inviting the mayor of Farnham to unveiling our Totem pole with friends and family present. The construction of the ceramic totem pole was a workshop run by Katie Netley
